Thanks, that seems like it will work perfectly. Do you know if I can boot a root device on say /dev/ufs/root? tunefs -L root /dev/da0a then in my fstab: /dev/ufs/root / ufs rw 1 1 Also, what is the difference between dong 'glabel lable -v root' and 'tunefs -L root'? It appears from the man page that one creates a /dev/label/root and the other creates a /dev/ufs/root. Where can I learn more about /dev/label and /dev/ufs? Thanks again.
