The original file is a bourne script but the extraction command is: EXTRACTCMD="dd bs=10240 skip=1 if=${InstallPWD}/ws31gr 2>/dev/null | uncompress | tar -xf -" where as you can see the tar archive is copied from the installation file and then uncompressed and untared.
