hi,
iīm running freebsd 2.2.2 on a cyrix 6x86 p166+ which i thought should
be a pentium compatible processor.
but after recompiling the kernel with cpu=586 it didnīt boot and told me
instead that i donīt have a 586 type cpu.
using now cpu=486 works just fine, but does anybody know why cpu=586
didnīt work? i couldnīt find anything in the faq.

thanks, roland
