Sorry to be a nuisance. I've tried to install freebsd three times now. Each time remounting the drive (a dedicated hard drive of its own) and reformating with dos. Then using use entire drive, etc. I can get the installed menu up and get myself in as add newuser. But then I cannot get a prompt. I boot with the boot disk in the floppy drive. On one install I acutally got boot manager to come up. But then I had no login or password to use sustem. arrgh! I have a serious commitment to learning UNIX but cannot get past what seems to be very basic issues. Are there any gurus in the Washington DC area that you know of?? thanks gary woodward
