I can't get a proper display when I run:

xinit mate-session

I get the following message:

scfb trace: probe start
scfb trace: probe done
failed to set mtrr: Invalid argument
xinit: connection to X server lost
waiting for X server to shut down failed to unset mtrr: No such file
or directory (II)
Server terminated successfully (0).
Closing log file.

Is this a serious problem? If so, how can I fix it? Thanks.

BMJ
