I suppose.  Many work on the system for the gratification of working on a
free operating system, apart from the world of Micro$loth.  Others for the
good of the group.  

If FreeBSD became as popular as Windows, it would be a gigantic moral
victory.  It'd take a _lot_ of work -- think of how many people you have
to each XWindows to. :)
