Actually, there has recently been a few by O'Reilly (not Linux
books specifically) that are being released as "open source books".
DocBook: The Definitive Guide, I think, is one.  Personally, I
think the idea of everyone working and improving on a book's source
doesn't make as much sense as software.  However, it is a neat way
to go.

I do agree wholeheartedly with this sentiment.  Greg and the
publishers have an agreement and are using the copyright how they
see fit here.  Going around them is illegal and wrong.
