Its over ATM [PPPoA] - Ive not found much Googling on tweaking this however I was reading the 3BSD section on this this page ; http://www.psc.edu/networking/projects/tcptune/ and tried the following ; 3bsd# sysctl -w kern.ipc.maxsockbuf=3D4000000 kern.ipc.maxsockbuf: 262144 -> 4000000 Now browsing the GTK themes section www.xfce-look.org is (almost) instantaneous whereas previously it was always a crawl !!! Woudl apprecaite advice on any of the info on that page and how to make (good) settings permanent :)
