Hi,
A friend of mine just phoned me after I had given him my 2.2.6 cd to
install FreeBSD (finally, took me long enough to convince him to try it),
telling me that the install went fine, but it couldn't boot.
It died with the message "Cannot mount root"
This had never happened to me in all the numerous times I've installed
FreeBSD, so I was a bit suprised. He hadn't done any funy stuff to
/etc/fstab or anything, as this was his first boot after the install.
As it turned out, he had en IDE cdrom as master on wdc0, and his harddisk
as slave. Swapping them around, so the hd was master fixed it.
Is this a bug or a hidden feature?
