Just to save time to somebody who's going to try it. Due to small issue with gxemul (PCI registers values of piix controller are not saved having been written) FreeBSD in gxemul panics after detecting IDE devices. Apply this patch to fix it: http://people.freebsd.org/~gonzo/mips2/gxemul.diff
