Hello Boris,
I saw your new linux-dri74 port just a couple of hours ago and gave it a
try. I've got a ATi Radeon X1950 Pro, running with xf86-video-ati in
version 6.12.2_1 under FreeBSD/amd64 in version 7.2. With nativ FreeBSD=20
applications like ioQuake3, Blender oder BZFlag direct rendering is=20
working fine. Both glxinfo and glxgears report

But using the new linux-dri74 port in conjunction with
linux-f8-xorg-libs-7.3_2 and linux_base-f8-8_11 doesn't give direct
rendering. Both glxinfo and glxgears say that direct rendering is
enabled, but nevertheless they are falling back to the software
rasterizer:

Applications like Quake 3 or Return To Castle Wolfenstein tell the
same. Direct rendering is enabled, but they are falling back to the
software raterizer. I know that older version of the linux-dri port -
e.g. linux_dri 7.0 - are only working using FreeBSD/i386. Using amd64
they are only able to render via the software rasterizer. So my guess
is that i'm hitting the same "problem". Am I right or am I hitting a
bug? If that's that's the same old "problem" a note in pkg-desc would be
nice.

For the sake of completeness I'm going to attach the usual logs. dmesg,
full Xorg.0.log and and full glxinfo. I hope that helps. If more
information is necessary just tell me.
