I have this problem, and you bug-fix definitely fixes it.  So I too hope 
it gets committed.

But the reason for the delay may be as simple as that we are just a few 
days off a ports freeze, and the appropriate committer is probably 
overworked, either with other ports issues, or with job related activities.
