OK. I've narrowed it down to an issue with dns/adns. I've
confirmed it works with dns/adns-1.42. I'll attempt to find
out at which version it no longer works. But even at
version 1.42, it (adns) chokes on a stabdard FreeBSD
resolv.conf(5) file.

But frankly this is *really* a dns/adns issue. :-/
