You may have to write your own software to read the serial port. This is not difficult and can be done in either DOS or FreeBSD. Probably no more than 20 lines of code. You may have to put a null modem in the serial line. Customized serial communications are always a little tricky when you are first bringing them up. You have to get tx/rx sorted out as well as all of the dtr/dsr/cd. Charles Mott
