I expected that.  Anyways, I am with you until after the 'make world'.  Do
you mind if I summarize what I think the process is?

- get source (you get your source right into the /usr/src dir. right?
              I deleted my old /usr/src and /usr/ports and then copied
              the new ones in).
- make buildworld
- save your old /etc directory
- create new /etc file
- compare &/or merge old /etc with new /etc files as required
- copy massaged new /etc files over
- make installworld
- make new kernel
- reboot
- fix bugs/config probs/typo's etc.
- laugh like an idiot  >;)
