Samba/cups would likely handle most setups like this. 2(a) is also not a problem, 2(b) you'd need to see if there's a driver available. I'm not familar with digitrex, is it a TDM based product? I'd guess you'd have some trouble in that area, FreeBSD and asterisk require special consideration when hardware is involved.
