This could sound like disk trouble. Try this: boot into singleuser stty status ^T dd if=/dev/rwd3 of=/dev/null bs=64k press CTRL-T every so often and see if it stalls -- Poul-Henning Kamp FreeBSD coreteam member phk@FreeBSD.ORG "Real hackers run -current on their laptop."
