Hmm, but that way you get all the double printing stuff:

	N^HNA^HAM^HME^HE
	     p^Hpp^Hpp^Hp - Point to Point Protocol (a.k.a. user-ppp)

Try:

zcat /usr/share/man/man8/ppp.8.gz | nroff -mandoc | col -b > /usr4/ppp.txt
