  You guys are right.

ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/FreeBSD-current/portslang/perl5/
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 207 5099 Mar 22 23:13 Makefile
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 207 59 Mar 22 23:13 distinfo
drwxr-xr-x 2 root 207 512 Mar 22 23:13 files
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 207 41 May 19 2000 pkg-comment
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 207 421 Mar 22 23:13 pkg-descr
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root 207 181 Mar 22 23:13 pkg-install
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 207 37373 Mar 22 23:13 pkg-plist

I have taken a look at it.

* It still uses patches to hints file instead of Configure option, which is,
IMHO, downright ugly. Of course the best way for this is to have perl fix
its own hints file; IMHO less patch is better and let Configure take care
of whatever it can....
* Makefile still uses MAN1 and MAN3 while ${PERL_VER} and ${PERL_ARCH} is
introduced to presumablly make portsfile "upgrade registant". Do we still
need MAN1 and MAN3 entries?
* Is there any plan to streamline p5-* ports? I am honored to find one of
my modules are there (p5-Jcode-pm) but I hardly use p5- because of / thanks
to CPAN.

  Thank you anyway...
