Hi,

I've grepped a little bit around and found 1528 .la files in pkg-plist's
(the list is available at http://www.leidinger.net/FreeBSD/la-files).
It's a lot even if only 2/3 are real libtool .la files.

A major producer of this mess is kde:
(10) netchild@ttyp2 % grep kde /tmp/la-files|wc -l
     776

I expect them to take ~700k on disk.

As long as you can't use USE_LIBTOOL (e.g. because we only have libtool
1.3.4 and no libtool 1.4), you at least can rm them in post-install if
you don't have a better idea.

I have a report from someone who has 134k of those useless (for us)
files.

Bye,
Alexander.
