It does contain glwMDrawingAreaWidgetClass (the Motif-specific alternative), but there are programs around that won't build with the latter. I checked the Xorg source code, and glwDrawingAreaWidgetClass is still present, but it's disabled in the default build. Xorg 6.x on FreeBSD contains both glwDrawingAreaWidgetClass and glwMDrawingAreaWidgetClass.
