There are some issues with vinum (particularly the RAID-5 code)
that I believe are not fixed unless you're running a recent version
of -CURRENT, and I don't know whether any of those changes will be
back-ported to -STABLE, so keep this in mind.

Likewise, there are some issues with running softupdates under
certain circumstances (even with -CURRENT), so you don't want to run
it on a particular partition unless you know that you actually need
the features it provides, and you know that you can live with the
problems.

I'd encourage you to go to DejaNews and look in the archives they
have of the sol.lists.freebsd.stable and sol.lists.freebsd.current
newsgroups, which are gatewayed from the mailing lists.

Unix is like a wigwam -- no Gates, no Windows, and an Apache inside.
Unix is very user-friendly. It's just picky who its friends are.
