Well, to resolve my own problem, I decided to install the MySQL server on
FreeBSD machine itself. It seems to work now. I still can't understand
though why I couldn't get to my XP machine. I was able to get to the XP
machine from my other windoze machine, but...It is a mute point now. I have
transferred all of my data over to the FreeBSD machine.
