	I've always hit ESC at least twice in vi (to ring the BEL)
	for audio confirmation.  The possibility of a term variable
	is along the lines of what I was wondering.  If there is
	one, the default must be set to 4 seconds.  3 or 4.  

	Where should I check for this kind of configuration?
