Hi!

I'm running 2.1.7 RELEASE#0 on a P166 machine.

Whenever I 'mv' a file from one file system to another, I get this
error/warning message:

mv: /target/filesystem/filename: set owner/group: Operation not permitted

The file is moved successfully though. mv'ing files within the same file
system doesn't producing any such message.

The mv man page mentioned that "As the rename(2) call does not work across
file systemf, mv uses cp(1) and rm(1) to accomplish the move..."

Is there anything I can do to avoid the said error/warning message?
Thanks for any pointers.

Regards,
N. Fung
