Get a Promise TX2 controller.
They are about 20 pounds.

I know the ATA100 Promise controllers are supported, since I've got one.
I think the ATA133 ones are as well.

PS. Make sure you have options ATA_STATIC_ID in your kernel before you install
it, unless you want lots of fun.
