Thanks a lot for your suggestion! I do not know why it took me so long to try. Since currently http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html lists 340.65 as the "Latest Long Lived Branch version", I went with it. 340.65 solved the problem. (While I had 95% panics with 340.46 terminating the X server, I tried five times with 340.65 without an issue.) Are you interested in results with 340.58, too, or is it irrelevant, since the port will go to 340.65 next? Cheers, Jan Henrik
