For the .desktop files to work, they need not fixed up and installed in 
the right place. This work as been done for KDE, but nobody has stepped 
forward to do the same for GNOME yet. If you want to volunteer, feel 
free to adjust the port's Makefile and submit your patch to the mailing 
list.
