I'm getting the following error on FreeBSD 4.1-stable:

"/etc/rc.conf: 16: Syntax Error: Unterminated quoted string
Enter full pathname of shell or RETURN for /bin/sh:"

I enter <RETURN> and I cannot remove, restore, or edit <rc.conf> since
it says:
READ-ONLY file system

Can anyone help?

I've tried to chmod, chflags to no avail.

TIA,
:-) neil
