On my laptop, P5-200 w/48MB, runing
FreeBSD top.worldcontrol.com 3.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 3.0-CURRENT #0: Sun Feb 22 15:36:41 PST 1998 brian@bls2.worldcontrol.com:/uss/src/sys/compile/LAPTOP i386

with softupdates6 enabled on /usr has frozen and then reset twice while
I had soffice4 sitting idle in another window.

On the other hand, is has not frozen&reset while either:

    I have had softupdates6 disabled
    or
I have not had soffice4 sitting in another window.

This is not a panic, but a freeze and reset. I could be related to
soffice4 and simply coincident with softupdates6 being enabled or
disabled.
