	I've always felt this. Even though FreeBSD does a good job of 
coming back I've never really wanted to risk it. The problem is sleep 
mode is really only good for laptops and monitors. The amount of 
electricity saved is so minimal it's not really worth it. I've run 
experiments at home on this. My findings have been that turning a regular 
60watt bulb or a small tv off saves more power then four PC's and a Sparc 
machine do.
