>Description:
This is an old laptop Compaq Armada 1700.

adding hald_enable="YES" to /etc/rc.conf makes cdrom fail straight after boot
with

acd0: FAILURE - unknown CMD (0x03) ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=0x24 ascq=0x00 sks=0x40 0
x00 0x00

The error message is repeated approx. every 2 seconds indefinitely.
After rebooting without hald_enable, all is fine again, checked 3-4 times.

hald_enable="YES" is required to make mouse and keyboard detected in X, so
the problem results in unusable X.

>How-To-Repeat:

On Compaq Armada 1700 laptop, FBSD-7.1-stable add hald_enable="YES" to
/etc/rc.conf and reboot

>Fix:

no idea, I think hal port is buggy. I think it is giving me problems on
8.0-current as well.
