Eh?  I realize this, but how do I get FreeBSD to USE a serial console?  I 
wasn't aware if this was possible/had been done or not.

Having a terminal on a serial port is not what I want...I want console 
messages (at boot, panics, etc.) to go to a console attached to a serial 
port.  If this is as simple as you've made it sound, by all means 
enlighten me :-)
