You need to set LANG. I've done a special setting for this for
some ports. But the portugese port is not among them. So what
LANG setting is appropriate for you ? And which one can also be used ?
Send me the output so I can commit it.

You can edit it in the wrapper script /usr/local/bin/openoffice
