I get the same thing on a DeLL 4100 with an Intel 845 chipset.
It is in all likelihood related to ACPI, check the list archive for
info on how to disable acpi.ko from loading. something about
loader.conf.

I've been accepting this behavior just so I can test the 
background fsck every time I boot into -CURRENT.
