I did the same for www. It's true that there's nothing to preserve, but 
I think it is easier to remember and type mn than mn_MN.UTF-8. Another 
reason is consistency. All of the translations have a doc directory in 
the short form as well, except da_DK.ISO8859-1. If it's the case, one 
might suppose mn should work and wonder that it can't be found.
