Your'e absolutely correct.  I should have said; using natd with (user) ppp
is a waste of time.  Greg's (mostly excellent) book confused me here a
bit, as it had instructions for using both together, and included the
-alias switch, which I'm beginning to realize, negated the need for any
natd-specific configuration.
