Sure - use a normal getty entry in /etc/ttys and set up the PPP users'
shell as either /usr/sbin/pppd, or a script that invokes pppd.

I'm doing it this way, and can use PPP, SLIP, and shell logins on the
same port.  Works fine here.

My promised FAQ on this subject has been somewhat delayed - sorry!
