Try Xircom. They have at least 2 models listed on their website, the CreditCard Modem 56-Global Access (GSM) and the Credit Card Modem 56, which are not winmodems. After phoning the Australian distributors of EVERY known breed of PCMCIA modem I couldn't find one that WASN'T a winmodem. We don't get every product here so its possible that "proper" PCMCIA modems are available elsewhere in the world. Similarly with GSM ones ..... all the ones known in this part of the world are software type (winmodems) except for the industrial models made by Siemens / Ericsson / Falcom.
