It doesn't work on alpha, from the build of the port:

(this is beast, a -CURRENT from Mar 08).
SMALLTALK_KERNEL=`cd ./kernel; pwd`; \
export SMALLTALK_KERNEL; \
./gst -iQ dummy_file
Floating point exception - core dumped
gmake[2]: *** [gst.im] Error 136
gmake[2]: Leaving directory
`/.amd_mnt/freefall/host/d/home/alex/smalltalk/work/smalltalk-1.95.4'

I haven't run all tests on i386, but I know there used to be many
problems on my machine, and since you added no patches I'm not sure if
they still exist.
