With a single drive?!  I'd think not...  I don't believe even a single
Cheetah is capable of giving a sustained transfer rate of 14MB/s.

Now, with striped drives, accessing the raw striped partition, yes,
I'd expect it to really cruse.  And, incidently, that is where SCSI
really starts to break away from IDE in performance.
