You can boot FreeBSD on an SMP capable system. You just need to set
"cpu_enabled 1" at the SRM. By default it is set to "f"

I presume this means `FreeBSD won't boot on an SMP-capable box',
rather than `FreeBSD can't see/use more than 1 CPU in an SMP box'.
