sorry, i don't have any other details of that event as i didn't 
expected it. but i suppose i must have panicked when i saw a
message similar to this...

[Updating the packages database in /var/db/pkg ... - 244 packages found

...and missed the word 'database'. nonetheless, i did file a pr...

well, after deleteing the pkgdb.db & recreating it later, fixed the 
problem as stated in the pr; in any case i have 20011010.1 version. 
ok, after cvsup a minute ago, i now have 20011012.
