Have you updated your ports tree? It does install properly on my system (FreeBSD 4.4-STABLE). If you are sure, then send a PR (See send-pr(1)) with more detailed information, including the error output. This is the output I get: <snip> Done. ===> Patching for linux-jdk-1.4.0b3 find /usr/ports/java/linux-jdk14/work/j2sdk1.4.0 -name '*.orig' -print | xargs /bin/rm -f ===> Configuring for linux-jdk-1.4.0b3 ===> Installing for linux-jdk-1.4.0b3 ===> linux-jdk-1.4.0b3 depends on executable: javavm - found ===> linux-jdk-1.4.0b3 depends on file: /compat/linux/etc/redhat-release - found /bin/mkdir -p /usr/local/linux-jdk1.4.0b3 /usr/bin/tar -C /usr/ports/java/linux-jdk14/work/j2sdk1.4.0 -cf- . | /usr/bin/tar -C /usr/local/linux-jdk1.4.0b3 -xpf- /usr/local/bin/registervm "/usr/local/linux-jdk1.4.0b3/bin/java # Linux-Sun-JDK1.4.0b3" ===> Generating temporary packing list ===> Registering installation for linux-jdk-1.4.0b3 zaphod# /usr/local/linux-jdk1.4.0b3/bin/java -version java version "1.4.0-beta3" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0-beta3-b84) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0-beta3-b84, mixed mode) zaphod# Kind regards, Ernst On Thursday 22 November 2001 19:29, Surfdesign wrote: > Hi, > I tried the linux-jdk1.4.0b3 port with the corresponding linux jdk and > it doesnt install properly : the makefile still reference the b1 version > > What we should do > Thanks Daniel -- Ernst de Haan EuroNet Internet B.V.
