I hope it has a future. I've been using it for a long time. That said,
the FreeBSD version is old but my understanding is the newer version is
dependent on GNOME3 libraries.

I have issues on large number of mailbox messages -- slow, and my
mailboxes are on ZFS volumes with SSD caches.
