either by using `ipfw` count capabilities (refer to the handbook,
the needed kernel options to activate should be there) and mrtg/rrdtool
or another option might be using `ntop` from the ports collection
or `tcpstat` (from the ports collection too):

ntop: /usr/ports/net/ntop
tcpstat: /usr/ports/net/tcpstat

(I prefer the latter if I want to see what's going on
in detail)
