I am using the port version (actually, an older version): root@kg-fil# mythbackend --version Library API version: 0.20.20060828-3 Source code version: FreeBSD Ports Collection /usr/ports/multimedia/mythtv, MythTV version 0.20 Tue Mar 13 23:10:55 CET 2007 Options compiled in: freebsd release using_v4l using_oss using_arts using_ivtv using_dbox2 using_hdhr using_ip_rec using_freebox using_live using_x11 using_xv using_xrandr using_frontend using_backend > The first tells me the runtime prefix is /usr/local. I don't know, but my mythbackend reports the same prefix: root@kg-fil# mythbackend --printsched 2007-12-13 02:56:01.180 Using runtime prefix = /usr/local 2007-12-13 02:56:01.197 New DB connection, total: 1 2007-12-13 02:56:01.202 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost 2007-12-13 02:56:01.207 Current Schema Version: 1158 2007-12-13 02:56:01.208 New DB DataDirect connection 2007-12-13 02:56:01.208 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost 2007-12-13 02:56:01.213 Connecting to backend server: 10.1.10.4:6543 (try 1 of 5) 2007-12-13 02:56:01.214 Using protocol version 30 Retrieving Schedule from Master backend. > Mythtv is installed in /usr/local/share/mythtv/ I think on closer inspection, you'l find that directory only contains MythTV shared data (xml files for menues and so on). If you look, you will find out that the programs are located in /usr/local/bin. Example: root@kg-fil# which mythbackend /usr/local/bin/mythbackend > This error is more serious and I have no idea why this happens. Anyway, hope some of this helped a little bit. Hopefully someone with more time and knowledge than me will answer your question better. -- Regards, Torfinn Ingolfsen
