Yes and no.... speeds only go up to 230400, but I believe you can get 
overclocked chips that run at multiples of up to 4 times.  FreeBSD 
doesn't need to know that it's actually functioning faster than 
advertised.

I'm afraid I don't know a great deal about 16650 (or higher) UARTS 
though :-/
