I miss any message about da0 in your dmesg! Sorry my box with the parallel port zip drive is at home. I am quite shure that on my box is a line in dmesg output indicating da0 is there. I expect also some output due to the scbus0. You can find some notes on my experiences in installing freebsd on http://www-es.fernuni-hagen.de/~jfh/FreeBSD_Documentation/ . Did you compile and install the kernel with your config file? Maybe you should use lpt0 for the drive. The second parallel port is not necessary. I have the printer plugged into the zip drive. -- Fritz Heinrichmeyer mailto:fritz.heinrichmeyer@fernuni-hagen.de FernUniversitaet Hagen, LG ES, 58084 Hagen (Germany) tel:+49 2331/987-1166 fax:987-355 http://ES-i2.fernuni-hagen.de/~jfh To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
