my machines are all offline (i need to buy some HW and re-arrange a couple other things) so i was thinking about installing FreeBSD on his PC. i don't want to use the bootloader since he whines every time something changes (he doesn't really know what he is doind) is it possible to grab the last couple GB of his 13GB EIDE drive and boot from a floppy? i don't remember if FreeBSD has this problem, but a lot of Free UNIXes do (Linux does, but then it's crap) where the bootable area can't be past 1GB (or something like that) on an IDE disk. since i'll be doing this from a boot floppy, i don't need to worry about this right? thanks, -wonko -- "Free memory is wasted memory." -Solaris 2/FAQ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
